Butterflies is a short horror story, with a rather unpleasant twist, published in ebook format.

Concept

Having read the story, I felt the book needed a butterfly as its main imagery.  To convey the disturbing twist in the story, I sourced a rather bloody vector image.  The main title is a simple font that contrasts with the severe image of the butterfly.  Yet complements the word butterflies and the casual, almost diary like, opening feel of the story.  Using a shade of red from the butterfly image in the title tied the two together nicely.

Finally for the authors name, I chose a bold sans serif font in black.  I studied many of my favourite book covers to see how authors use their names and this seemed a popular and tidy format.
